ADHD Brain Waves

One of the coolest aspects of ADHD is the type of brain activity that it forms in contrast to that of ‘normal’ people’s brains. Not only can brain doctors see the difference with brain activities but by analizing neurostimuli they can see where ADHD impacts the brain and see what functions either lack or have excess amounts of hormonal stimuli.

This is a visual aid showing what hormones are impacted the most by ADHD and are boosted to normal productions by certain daily medications and therapies.
This visualizes the reality of how ADHD externalizes its impacts on one’s brian on a daily basis compared to those without an actual attention disorder.
Here you see what ADHD looks like after an fMRI scan was done. The red shows the brain functions that are lacking in stumuli particularly in the frontal lobe. For those who don’t know what a frontal lobe does, it deals with movement control, emotions, problem solving (judgment too), and social interactions. Those are often the areas most noticably less developed in ADHD people. That is why they have to move so much and seem to “lack self-control”.
This is my drawing of what it’s like for me with ADHD while I’m medicated and unmedicated. When it comes to the sleeping cycle, I think my ADHD impacts my ability to relax and fall into a deep and restful sleep properly, which I will talk about in post 6. I find when I fall into a restful sleep usually lies between 3 and 5 am.
